A unique range of high performance replacement filter elements

A unique range of high performance replacement filter elements are available from Hi-line Industries Ltd. These are offered at keen prices and cross reference over 250,000 different filters, providing viable alternatives for a very wide range of filtration products from a large number of competitive manufacturers, including those with housings incorporating swan neck, bayonet or other proprietary fixing connections. The practice of utilising bespoke connections of this type has previously locked-in end users to a specific supplier, with their customers usually committed to paying any supplier premium for the lifetime duration of the original filtration equipment.

As well as breaking this pernicious cycle, the Hi-line universal products are designed to fit all manufacturers filter housings, typically showing a 75% cost saving while also generally out-performing the original filter element equipment. The use of high quality components during manufacture includes the Hi-line proprietary Microflex filter media. This has a tapered pore structure which ensures 99.99999% particle removal down to 0.01 micron in size. This media is used to manufacture elements with a pleated structure, which essentially provides four times more filtration area than conventionally wrapped elements. This ensures lower differential pressures, increased flow characteristics, longer service life and greater contaminant holding capabilities.

Hi-line's unique computerised filter cross reference table allows a cost effective Hi-line alternative element to be supplied quickly and cheaply once the original part number has been entered. The elements combine maximum chemical and thermal capabilities, with optimum availability in a wide range of sizes, end cap materials and fixing configurations. They can be supplied for particulate removal, vacuum mist elimination, the supply of instrument air, together with both coalescing and odour absorption applications. They are also designed to fit directly into existing filter housings without the need for any modifications or special fitting kits. Popular sizes are available for next day delivery as drop-in replacements for most filter elements currently in the market.

As well as making replacement cartridge filters, Hi-line can also supply a range of desiccant and fridge dryers for the treatment of compressed air. In addition, they offer a Total Filter Management (TFM) strategy, designed for supplying all company filtration needs from process chemicals to effluent strainers.

New stainless steel pull-down from
aMsp feature excellent corrosion resistance

A new series of Corrosion Resistant Pull-Down Latches from All Metric Small Parts (aMsp) is designed for various types of boxes and transportation equipment. Because springs are used, a tightening force is applied when the latch is closed. Since the latch is stainless steel it has excellent corrosion resistance. The holes for a padlock are on the side, preserving the appearance even when there is no lock. 3-D CAD models are available for download at the aMsp Website. Address given below.

aMsp offers an extensive selection of all Metric standard industrial machine components. Their products include: Handles, Handwheels, Cranks, Grips, Levers, Knobs, Latches, Locks, Catches, Hinges, Screws, Washers, Springs, Keys, Plungers, Pins, Leveling & Support Feet. All of these products are 100% RoHS Compliant.

Detailed specifications are contained in catalog M100, available free upon request. A new series of metric leveling mounts

A new series of metric leveling mounts from All Metric Small Parts (aMsp) swivels 15o to all sides of the centerline to adjust to uneven surfaces. Uses include leveling machine tools, electronic racks, benches, and more. A jam nut is part of the leveling assembly. The mounts, identified as the MVAYNAM and MVAYNFM Series, have isolator pads which vary in diameter from 40 to 80 mm. These anti-slip pads are made of fiberglass reinforced Polyamide. Their height ranges from 93 mm to 180 mm. The aMsp eStore shows single unit as well as quantity prices for these handwheels, which are stocked for overnight delivery worldwide. Applications include their use in linear motion and rotary table positioning. 3-D CAD models are available for download at the aMsp Web site.

Adjustable MRT handles suit  clamping in tight spaces

A situation which Elesa had exactly in mind when introducing their new MRT range of adjustable clamping handles.

The MRT series has been tested for repetitive tightening in the order of 100,000 cycles. For even very tight spaces the smallest MRT variants have handles just 43mm long with the longest at only 80mm and all MRT handles feature push button release so that the male (or female) stud may be tightened in a step and arc process. Standard manufacture is an open design of handle in glass reinforced technopolymer with optimal zinc plated steel, stainless steel or brass bosses or studs. This design particularly offers electric insulation for the operator, no visible steel parts to rust and a particularly comfortable lever release mechanism.

A range of high quality permanent magnets

Elesa have further added to their comprehensive catalogue of standard parts with a range of high quality permanent magnets in sintered hard ferrite, Aluminium nickel cobalt (AINiCo), Samarium cobalt (SmCo) and Neodymium iron boron (NdFeB).

This type of magnet can offer a range from low to extremely high adhesive force  - for example in the case of Neodymium magnets, making them ideal for location and temporary fixing of workpieces or panels or for sensor holding, e.g. on conveyors or other machinery. Moving down the scale applications can be as varied as supermarket labeling, locating presentation materials, white boards, cabinet door closure or magnetic filtration, e.g. of metal particles in engine sumps or in machinery and equipment.

These permanent magnets are available in flat format with/without, steel/stainless housings in lacquer or thermoplastic coating and in cylinder format with brass housed sandwich configuration. U Magnets and cylinder magnets in red lacquer with pass-through facility are also part of the standard series.

Retaining magnets are simple solutions to many problems of long-lasting fixing. Thanks to their structure they have one adhesive surface only with poles optimized and arranged in such a way that the whole magnetic energy is focused on the adhesive surface. The effect in the area of the magnetic field is limited by a shielded system, avoiding the magnetization of the surrounding objects.

Lots of latches spring from EMKA

The humble and ubiquitous toggle latch comes today from EMKA in a multitude of variations under their 6000 program which includes many types in stainless steel. Toggle latches with their associated catch plates find application in situations where rapid fixing and release are required. This is often called for on packing cases, storage boxes, transit cases, access panels, cabinet doors, vehicle onboard storage compartments and similar.

EMKA's range includes simple low cost wire toggle latches, either without lock or with padlockable facility - these are complimented with spring loaded versions. Additional functionality is addressed via the "special" section of the 6000 program which encompasses latches with claw links and with compression facility. Larger types feature integral adjustment for length of the claw, thus enabling full pull down to be achieved over a long period of usage. Catch plates in both straight pull and 90° options are available.

Further information on EMKA products and services may be found at: www.emka.co.uk, where it is also possible to download their 3D CAD files and any part or the entire EMKA product catalogue. Find the latest information and news on the EMKA blog - www.emkablog.co.uk

The ubiquitous wing nut - an Elesa favourite

Whether used for clamping, adjustment, assembly or positioning, the combination of a machine screw with a wing nut has been around for "ever" and consequently has been addressed by Elesa in their role as market leading standard component suppliers. The Elesa range of wing nuts, wing screws and matching wing knobs - machine screws with wings - run from reinforced technopolymer to stainless steel.

Wing nuts, wing screws and wing knobs feature in situations as diverse as custom wheelchairs or display stands and workpiece location - where their compact size and rapid manual operation are essential to low cost solutions.

Elesa standard designs are available in traditional "double wing" format or as a single wing, with more "front-of-house" aesthetics offered by utilizing rounded design styles and larger knobs with more comfortable grip and delicacy of operation.
